Semester Project Thesis: "Comparison of blind channel
estimation algorithms in DS-CDMA Systems"
Outline: Due to the increasing use of DS-CDMA
in various applications (e.g. 3G mobile communications), there is recently
a strong interest in Multiuser Channel Estimation. Methods which do not
need a-priori knowledge are known as "blind". One significant part
of this area are algorithms who exploit the mathematical properties of
the signal. This algorithms are known as subspace decomposition methods.
In this work I have implemented and tested extensively two of the most
famous of these methods.
Carried out at the University of Perugia.

Diploma Thesis: "Simulation of a Space-Time Satellite
System"
Outline: In order to increase the bandwidth efficiency
in satellite communication systems a novel system which takes advantage
of Iterative Interference Cancellation and Turbo Decoding, has been developed.
In this project I have implemented and tested this system with the
design tool "COSSAP" of the software house Synopsys. The theoretical background
is presented shortly, while the system and its implementation in detail.
Also a chapter about a possible application of an outer blockcode is included.
Carried out at the Fraunhofer IIS and the Chair of Information
Transmission of the University of Erlangen.
